Regulation of Transcription Print

Head: Dr. Christian Kosan

Cellular processes such as differentiation, cell growth, apoptosis or cell cycle progression are tightly controlled by receptor signaling pathways and gene expression regulation. Many of these developmental process a regulated by specific transcription factors that activate and control cellular genetic programs. At different time points during development transcription factors are specifically regulated and interact with different co-factors. A miss-regulation of one or several of these transcription factors can lead to cancer development.
